WASHINGTON, DC - The Improve I-70 Project, which aims to reconstruct 191 miles of I-70 across Missouri, has received a significant boost with a nearly $93 million INFRA (Infrastructure for Rebuilding America) Grant. Congressman Sam Graves, Chairman of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, made the announcement, highlighting the importance of this funding for the project's success.

"This is a highly competitive grant that was established in the FAST Act," said Congressman Graves. "Securing this INFRA Grant will be incredibly helpful in fully improving I-70. We were already able to get the Rocheport Bridge Project rolling with one, and I'm thrilled that this funding will help supplement the state funding that was already committed."

The $92.88 million grant will fund three segments of the larger program, including Segment A (Blue Springs to Odessa), Segment D (Route 63 to Route 54), and Segment F (Warrenton to I-64). These segments will undergo reconstruction, and additional enhancements such as new truck parking facilities, truck parking information systems, ITS additions, broadband infrastructure, and smart work zone information systems will be implemented.

Governor Parson and the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) played a crucial role in securing this funding. Congressman Graves acknowledged their hard work and foresight, stating, "Congratulations to Governor Parson and MoDOT, who worked hard to secure this funding and whose foresight ensures that I-70 will be used easily and more efficiently by Missourians and the Nation for years to come."

This is not the first INFRA Grant that Congressman Graves has secured for I-70. In 2019, he obtained an $81 million grant to replace the Rocheport Bridge. The INFRA Grant program, established in 2016 by the FAST Act, has been instrumental in providing long-term transportation funding, thanks to the efforts of Congressman Graves.

With the infusion of this new grant, the Improve I-70 Project is poised to make significant progress in enhancing the infrastructure and overall efficiency of I-70 in Missouri. This news is undoubtedly welcomed by both residents and travelers who rely on this major transportation route.

The construction and improvements funded by the INFRA Grant will ensure safer and smoother travel experiences for all. Missouri can look forward to a more robust and reliable transportation system, thanks to the commitment and dedication of Congressman Graves and the collaboration between federal and state entities.

The Improve I-70 Project is an important initiative that will have a lasting impact on Missouri's transportation network. With the support of the INFRA Grant, the future of I-70 looks brighter than ever.
